The cutscenes and movies were borked, and the 30fps low graphics imitation of the old version is slow and unresponsive compared to the old original version for PC. It can be played effectively, but it is odd. The interface for keyboard and mouse is still a little bit odd, it's better but it has some issues which you will find out no matter how you use it. Some enhancements were never meant to be done on every visible effect in this engine, so things get forgotten. The timing and quick events will often not work as well, so drop it down. Realistically, it won't look any better at 60 fps then 30, so drop it down. It's a very odd development process, and they consistently make mistakes. They even lose files sometimes in the process. So, if you put certain improvements in, you break things in the pc version. The problem, it seems to me, is that often they don't use the latest version to port over, or they forget how the original port had issues when transferred over to the pc. They don't work with the old PC version, they recode from a console port and then customize the graphics, the audio, and the console version. They also, seemed to fool around way too much with the cutscenes.Ĭapcom tends to do things an odd way when they do a remaster. Things went out of synch probably because the engine itself wasn't designed for some of the chrome they tried to put into the game. My own opinion is that they went overboard with what they tried to do graphically, and by trying to create the 60 fps. You should read the old patch notes, you will see that often those threads have problems revisited patch after patch. Some of the fixes put into the later versions, messed up the play on some users, but many fixed things on many users systems.
The 1.02 beta is a version much before the 1.06 current version. But, as Rain said in the last post, you will miss out on many of the other improvements. Yeah, way back, the 1.02 version, had on some computers, less of an audio problem.
